We are recruiting a Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, train and support adult volunteers/mentors from the local communities, to work with vulnerable young people based in our supported housing projects and the local community. This includes delivering our established Positive Placements employability programme across Horsham and Crawley.

The Community & Volunteer Co-ordinator will seek to build links and financial support from local stakeholders and businesses, leading to greater opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and employment for the young people that we support.

The position comes with excellent benefits, including 5.4 weeks annual leave per annum (plus bank holidays), a company sick pay scheme, a life assurance policy of 2x your annual salary, and an interest free bike loan. Please download a job pack for more information about other benefits offered.

You will be responsible for and managing an existing caseload of volunteers, as well as ongoing recruitment and training. You will need to maintain monitoring systems to ensure the strategic development of the volunteering programme works towards departmental and team objectives and targets.

You must have experience of working with young people and understand the issues and barriers which may be experienced by vulnerable young people in a supported housing setting and community setting. You will need to have experience in recruiting and supporting volunteers and delivering training programmes. The role will involve organising, managing and prioritising your own workload with periods of minimal supervision.
