ChildHope is looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised person to join our small fundraising team. You will help us deliver our fundraising plan through a variety of digital communication tools and methods and take charge of our digital content and events.


ChildHope believes that children should enjoy a safe and secure childhood, but for those growing up in the toughest circumstances, these rights are denied. Born into extreme poverty and violence, they have no protection. Our work supports children who are considered the hardest to reach. These children may live and work on the street, be at risk of trafficking or child marriage, victims of abuse or sexual exploitation, working on rubbish dumps or in contact with the law. Children with disabilities are even more likely to be stigmatised, abused, exploited or neglected.

Principle objectives of the job:

To develop and manage digital communications/website to help raise the ChildHope profile with the aid of a recent communications relaunch focussed on a stronger visual identity and content rewrite to appeal to a wider audience and achieve a fresher more dynamic look.

To utilise the new digital marketing materials, a revamped approach to data visualization, storytelling and photography to highlight our work and fundraising opportunities.

To increase our digital analytics to track and monitor performance.

Principle objectives of the job:

To develop and manage digital communications/website to help raise the ChildHope profile with the aid of a recent communications relaunch focussed on a stronger visual identity and content rewrite to appeal to a wider audience and achieve a fresher more dynamic look.

ChildHope Website and Optimisation:

a) Ensure the daily management and maintenance of ChildHope’s website through the addition of new content and all on site optimization; drive traffic and value through sign up to e-newsletters and on-line donations.
b) Actively seek and obtain information from the Partnerships and Programmes Team to capture stories which evidence the impact of our work on their return from project monitoring visits in order to maintain public engagement with the website
c) Work with the Fundraising Officer to manage and maintain the resources library of images used for storytelling and external publication.
d) Review regularly and update where necessary, ChildHope’s promotional content across third party sites, affiliated campaigns to ensure they are current and actively optimized to drive traffic and maximise the number and value of both individual and regular donations made online.
e) Ensure all online content is effective as a resource to drive forward better donor engagement whilst ensuring that the experience is linked to non-digital supporter campaigns.
f) Provide regular analysis to the team on the performance and effectiveness of the site through Google Analytics
g) Manage search engine promotion through Pay Per Click advertising and Google Grants

Social Media:

a) Build a content calendar setting out scheduled posts on ChildHope’s social media platforms (FB, Twitter, Insta, Linkedin, and YouTube) in order to meet the desired ChildHope’s goals and fundraising strategy
b) Develop and deliver, utilizing ChildHope’s new digital materials, new ideas for building online presence and following


a) Ensure ChildHope’s E-newsletter is in line with supporter engagement plans and driven to provide the experiences and outcomes linked to new prospects.
b) Provide regular analysis to the team on the performance and effectiveness of this tool to ensure positive progress towards both marketing and fundraising goals.

Challenge Events and Community Fundraising

a) Manage and update ChildHope’s Challenge Events (runs, sponsored challenges and other events to ensure attraction from a wide range of audiences.
b) Develop and deliver a plan to drive engagement for fundraising sign ups through paid and organic advertising
c) Respond to event and community enquirers. Recruit, support and motivate with appropriate fundraising and promotional materials to ensure excellent supporter care before, during and after the event.
d) Promote existing events and research new initiatives and ways of attracting new audiences to attend or participate in events. Develop detailed time-schedules, plans and projections, including returns on income and time investment.
e) Keep informed of developments and trends in digital communications, opportunities for higher optimization of events within the fundraising sector and attend relevant training and network events.
f) Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of events and participant details on ChildHope’s database, Raiser’s Edge. Adhere to data protection standards, guidelines and processes in line with GDPR.

Assist in the development of a digital marketing strategy to establish future needs around enhancements around the website to keep it current, informative and engaging.

Knowledge: Specific knowledge, may be acquired through education, qualifications or life/work learning

• Knowledge and understanding of maintaining and developing websites and online supporter journeys.
• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising.

Experience: Previous relevant experience, work or life

• Experience in using content management systems
• Experience of web editing, image editing using Photoshop
• Experience in digital marketing and analytics tools.

• Experience managing Google Ad words and using web analytics tools.
• Experience of running Pay Per Click campaigns (PPC)
• Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge
• Working knowledge of TT mail
• Experience of Raiser’s Edge database.
• Experience of strategic planning

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in order communicate clearly the organisation’s core message and aims to supporters and donors in a motivating and engaging way

• Ability to analyse and interpret data and reports to inform the development of the fundraising strategy

• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong and supportive team player with ability to work collaboratively will all teams within the organisation

• Experience of using design packages like Photoshop or InDesign
• Strong project planning skills.
