Elektra Lighting Design is recruiting!

We are an independent lighting design consultancy, established almost 20 years ago. Our current workload includes hospitality, retail, workplace and other projects in 17 countries across 3 continents. You will get to go to some of these places.

We are a close-knit, friendly and supportive team with an exciting working environment with a wide range of stimulating projects, personalised training and development, a competitive salary and a company pension scheme.

Best of all, working hours are 8-5.30, Monday – Thursday. Yes, we work a 4-day week, every week, for the same pay. See here for more information - https://bit.ly/2HuXnnU

Senior lighting designer will supervise a team of 2-3 other staff and run a sizeable portfolio of projects. You will oversee all aspects and stages of lighting design for large projects from initial concept design to completion. You must have experience in an independent lighting studio ideally with some supervision experience and be looking to make the jump to running an entire team on day 1. We will support you in this. You should have broad technical knowledge, detailed knowledge of the lighting market and products available. You need to be able to work independently with CAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Dialux and other industry programs, and to train and supervise juniors doing the same. You will attend site, represent Elektra to clients, including presentations, attending meetings, liaise with the design team, suppliers and contractors.

We are committed to equal opportunities. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK; we will not be able to obtain a visa for you. Independent applicants only, please. No agency appointments considered.

NOTE: Just to be completely clear; we are not product designers. We don’t design light fittings, in the same way that architects do not design bricks. We create well-lit architectural spaces using light.
