An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and innovative service design professional, to help our client deliver an exciting 18-month project to re-design their peer support services for single parents.

They are the leading national charity working with single parent families, providing expert advice, practical support and campaigns to improve the lives of single parent families.

Role: Service Design Project Manager

Location: Kentish Town, London

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 (pro rata for part time) actual (£30,400)

Duration: 18-month contract

In this role you will be joining our client at an exciting time having recently celebrated their 100th year with a new three-year strategy.

The current peer support offer includes around 80 volunteer led local friendship groups and an online forum with 17,000 registered users, all of which reduce isolation among single parents and build their confidence.

There is potential to achieve so much more impact by supporting single parents to support each other. They have been awarded funding by the National Lottery Community Fund to re-design and co produce with single parents, their peer support service, producing a roadmap for a scalable, accessible and multi-channel support service that has maximum impact on single parent’s wellbeing.

Over 18 months, the Service Designer will have oversight of project timescales, budget and delivery targets and reporting. The development plan involves service design workshops and co-production to develop a fully user led service.

About you

We are seeking an outstanding service design professional who can facilitate and manage this exciting process of discovery and development. As Service Designer, you will be experienced at putting users at the heart of service development and designing impact focused services both online and offline. You will also bring robust project management skills and the ability to manage and inspire a range of stakeholders.

With experience of service design and development, for example agile approaches, user research, concept development, prototyping, UX Design, you will have a qualifications equivalent to an undergraduate degree, a project management or service design qualification You will have a Proven track record of set-up, delivery and management of successful projects, or end to end project delivery as a service designer and experience of people and stakeholder management, including staff, consultants and organisations operating on delivery contracts or grants and a proven track record of partnership building.

You may also have experience as a Project Manager, UX Designer, Service Designer, Project Delivery, Service Design.
